Book Festival 2017

2017 Book Festival a brilliant success

With a wonderful and diverse line-up of authors, audiences at the nine events (two of which were sold out) were enthusiastic in their praise of the Cove and Kilcreggan's 2017 Book Festival. A large proportion of the audience were locals but folk travelled from around Scotland to enjoy the experience. There was a real buzz about the event - the intellectual stimulus the authors provided, excellent food and conversation in the Cafe, good will and cheer exuded by a large number of volunteers - all of these factors helped to make it a uniquely pleasant event.

To all the people who made it happen - many thanks - the authors and their chairs, the sponsors and especially the main sponsors: Jim Auld Funeral Directors, Hart Insurance, Helensburgh Toyota/Subaru and Knockderry Hotel, the amazing volunteers who baked, washed dishes, put up and took down chairs, put up banners, and worked tirelessly all weekend. Not forgetting Ruth Wishart who persuaded, bullied and cajoled all the brilliant authors and chairs.

Alison Morrison, Chair of Cove Burgh Hall's Board of Directors, was delighted to sign up Jon Snow as a paid up Friend of CBH. (pictured)
