October is the month when regular meetings and activities of local clubs and societies are swinging into action in Cove Burgh Hall. It's a rich and varied range of choice and the activities are also a great way to meet and mingle with other locals.
Here's some of what's on offer:
On the last weekend of October, Live@CBH, the events and entertainment arm of Cove Burgh Hall, host the brilliant Tim KIliphuis Trio and their wonderful jazzy music-making, and then for something completely different, on the following night, the bi-annual Quiz Night which is always a great evening of competitive fun. And of course this is coming up to Halloween and the kids get to dress up at Kilcreggan Primary School's Halloween Night on the 25th.
In October, the Film Society has the first of its monthly Thursday night film screenings on the 11th and the first Saturday cinema for children with Moana on the 20th.
The Amenity Society will be holding the first of its coffee mornings for the season on Friday 26th.
The Scottish Women's Rural Institute monthly meetings feature talks on a wide range of social and cultural topics. The Institute also runs crafting evenings every month.
The Literary Society has five Monday night talks in the month. Every year they offer a varied and interesting programme with talks covering a wide range of topics.
Also every week there is ballroom dancing, table tennis, yoga, Tai Chi, Scottish dance, toddlers play sessions, the Lunch Club, Masons, textile crafts, Art Club, and Peninsula Choir.
