Peninsula Choir

With a Song In My Heart

Saturday next ( 27th January) is the date of our next concert. and for the choir it is not so much a case of "With a Song in My Heart" but rather more "With a Song in My Head'  because the numbers we are to perform are now so well embedded in our personal musical boxes, that it is difficult to fall asleep and wake up the next morning without one or other of our tricky parts driving us slightly crazy.

Still, undaunted we are having a go once again at our favourite activity of singing in a language that none of us speaks.  This makes the business of trying to read the music, and getting the timing right all so much more interesting as we have to read every syllable of what the Italian lyricist has contributed.  For light relief, our wonderful choir master and musical arranger Stephen (Adam) has adapted a couple of delightful medleys from the world of Disney for this concert.  We are hoping these will appeal to a younger audience.  So if you know of or if you yourself are a Disney fan - Mary Poppins, and Beauty and the Beast are making an appearance in the Cove Burgh Hall this year.  Children under 16 are always welcome free of charge to our concerts.

Euros Campbell, baritone, from Wales is our soloist singer once more this year.  Euros has joined us before and it is really fortunate for us to have the opportunity to back him in a couple of numbers.  Stephen has written in a trumpet part for our other soloist Simon Bird from Scottish Opera Orchestra, and we are honoured he can join us.

Tickets for the concert at Cove Burgh Hall on Saturday 27th January at 7.30 for 8pm (including a complimentary glass of fizz) are £10 on the door on the night or £9 in advance from Kilcreggan Post Office or:

If your January could do with a little bit of something heart-warming, do please come along, you will be very welcome.
