This year's Cove and Kilcreggan Book Festival is delivered entirely online, hosted by MyVLF. The Festival offers a great line-up of authors talking about their recent books, and the usual lively chat that makes our book festival such a special event. It is sure to be just as stimulating as previous Festivals - except that you can join in from the comfort of home, and it is FREE!
The Festival begins at 10am on Saturday the 21st of November. There will be three talks that morning, and a further three in the afternoon. This is the line-up of authors and their books (click on title to go to Waterstones website for more information or purchase):
- 10am: Sally Magnusson: The Ninth Child
- 11am: Peter Geoghegan: Democracy for Sale
- 12pm: Alan Johnson: In My Life: A Music Memoir
- 2pm: Clare Hunter: Threads of life
- 3pm: Kirsty Wark: The House by the Loch
- 4pm: Peter Ross: A Tomb with a View
The chairs this year will be Ruth Wishart, Janice Forsyth and Jenny Brown.
How to access the Book Festival
Go to MyVLF.com to create an account. There is more information there about the authors and their books as well so you can bone up in advance.
With your account in place, you'll be able to login on the 21st and see the talks as they are broadcast. Admission is free but if you would like to donate towards the running costs, please click here. You can give as little or as much as you like.
While these six events are being made available on that day, they will still be accessible thereafter for some time.
We are indebted to our sponsors - Creative Scotland, Book Week Scotland, Alastair Hart Insurance, Helensburgh Toyota, T C Young, James Auld Funeral Directors and Open University Scotland - without whom none of this could happen.
