The Cove and Kilcreggan Book Festival on 24th and 25th of November will be the fifth time some of the best known authors from Scotland and beyond have come to Cove Burgh Hall.
Over the years we’ve had top crime writers like Ian Rankin and Denise Mina, top journalists like Jon Snow and Kirsty Wark, and a whole array of literary talents including AL Kennedy, Janice Galloway, and Liz Lochhead.
Some of them are coming back for a second visit in 2018 including James Robertson, Val McDermid, Sally Magnusson and our own Makar Jackie Kay.
Some are here for the first time like Andrew O’Hagan, Angus Roxburgh, Alan Little, and Alex Gray.
And always we look for a book with a special local resonance: last year it was the quirky biography of Greenock’s George Wyllie, this year it’s Jane MacKenzie’s Tapestry of War partially set in the Rosneath Peninsula during World War Two.
It’s an unmissable weekend with the inner bibliophile catered for in our café bar, and our authors’ over dosing on home baking in their Green Rpom.
All of them will be on hand to sign their books which you can buy in the community library in the hall.
