Book Festival 2019

Record-breaking Book Festival PHOTO: A packed hall listens to Prof. Sir Tom Devine

2019 Cove & Kilcreggan Book Festival - record turnout, fascinating and varied talks by authors, a chance to engage in discussion with authors, take home signed copies of their books, and in between the intellectual pursuits, enjoy great food from the kitchen run by volunteers. It was a tremendous weekend all round - highly successful in every way. Though perhaps disappointing if you had turned up without a booking to attend the last talk (Tom Devine) only to find it sold out.

Tickets sold were just under 1000, well up on last year's 600. Online ticketing helped ticket sales and also enabled the organisers to plan for the numbers attending. Having a card-reader for book sales meant that more books were sold.

So many people pitched in to make the Book Festival the success it was. The organisers are to be congratulated and the many helpers thanked. Thanks also to our generous sponsors - Creative Scotland, Open University in Scotland, James Auld Funeral Directors, Knockderry Country House Hotel, Helensburgh Toyota, Subaru Helensburgh, Hart Insurance Brokers, Admin Design & Print, TC Young Solicitors.
