Cove Burgh Hall

The joys of Cove's Book Festival (or most of them :-})

Ian Rankin and other authors who have taken part in the Cove and Kilcreggan Book Festival in previous years share their thoughts on the joys of the Festival...

The format of the Festival

This year, MyVLF, a free global virtual literary festival, will host the Cove & Kilcreggan Book Festival. MyVLF connects readers with authors entirely in digital format and offers a great solution to the challenge of running the book festival in these strange and restrictive times. Not only that, there may be unexpected bonuses! To quote from their website: "We wanted to create a cosy, welcoming online space where you could see and hear your favourite authors and ask them questions – and stay in your pyjamas"!!

For Cove Burgh Hall, having the Book Festival hosted online by MyVLF provides a great solution to the problem posed by Covid-19 restrictions. We considered that charging attendees would be counter-productive as we wanted as many people as possible to enjoy the Festival. However there are significant costs involved in holding the online event. We would therefore like to say that donations are very welcome. Click here to donate.
