Afternoon tea dance a great success

The local group of country dancers, who dance in the Burgh Hall on Tuesday mornings during the winter, held an Afternoon Dance on Friday, 16th August, to help raise funds for improvement works to the Hall.

The hall was filled with dancers from all over the area – from Ayr, Largs, Millport, Greenock and Gourock who all came over on the ferry, as well as dancers from Hamilton and three carloads from Dunoon, Ardrishaig and Tarbert. There were also a good number of dancers from Helensburgh and surrounding areas. In all there were 71 visitors and lots of fun-filled dancing.

The amazing sum of £526 was raised to contribute to Hall improvements.

The next Afternoon Scottish Country Dance is the Annual Dance on Wednesday, 11th September, 2.00 until 5.00.
