A fabulous evening of music and storytelling. The audience got into the spirit, joining in the chorus to songs like Eddie Banjo, Fidel Castro Five Years Gone and Running the Light. Although many arrived unfamiliar with some of Findlay's original compositions, his humorous introductions and insightful explanations of the inspiration behind each song transformed the experience. The legendary Cod Liver Oil and the Orange Juice went down a storm and the beautiful Call Me If You Need Me (the “Yeuchy sentimental one”) had everyone swooning along. Blue Lagoon another sentimental song about falling in love in the chippy , was particularly poignant especially considering its reference to union corner — an iconic Glasgow site that, sadly, no longer exists. An entertaining night was enjoyed by all.
