Our Community serves as the delivery brand for the Rosneath Peninsula West Community Development Trust (the Trust). Established in 2010, the Trust has been dedicated to regenerating the areas of Cove, Kilcreggan, and Ardpeaton by actively pursuing and delivering projects focused on community aspirations.
Our Community uses Cove Burgh Hall for meetings and holding community events.
From its inception in 2010 through to 2024, the Trust implemented a wide variety of projects and activities aimed at enhancing local life. In addition to its core initiatives, the Trust operated as a delivery vehicle for projects, collaborating with other community groups and individuals.
Notable examples of these projects include:
· Sea Change Festival
· Craigrownie Playpark
· Architectural competition
· Energy efficiency advice
· Addressing knotweed issues
· Heritage trail creation
· Cove Carnival
· Community Lottery
· Cove and Kilcreggan 10k run
In 2022, the Trust initiated the Our Community Project, which concentrated on developing a Local Place Plan and establishing a framework for long-term village redevelopment. The resulting Local Place Plan was submitted to Argyll and Bute Council and received endorsement in 2025.
Reflecting its evolving role and focus, the Trust adopted the name Our Community in 2025, while retaining RPWCDT as its legal entity. This rebranding was intended to better represent the programme of works associated with delivering the Local Place Plan and to strengthen the Trust’s commitment to ongoing development. The delivery plan continues to be guided by the aspirations identified through comprehensive community consultation and is detailed within the Local Place Plan.
